The Praktisix was presented at first at the Photokina 1956. The serial production has been started in 1957 at Kamerawerke Dresden-Niedersedlitz.
The cameras has a film format at 6x6 (2.25x2.25in) and a 120 film size. The typical standard lens was the Biometar 2.8/80 with the typical Praktisix Bayonet mount (=Pentacon Six mount or P6-mount).
